Once your invitations have been mailed you’ll have time to focus on other wedding related plans. But as the Response Cards arrive you’ll want to document replies to keep track of who has responded, what the response was, meal options (if applicable), etc. A computerized spreadsheet is a great tool for this task.
While most guests will reply in a timely manner, there are always those that will need a gentle reminder. Shortly after the requested response date has passed the bride, the bride’s mother or a close friend should contact those who haven’t responded to determine their intentions.
Knowing the total number of guests to expect is essential when finalizing quantities of food, number of chairs and tables, seating plans, number of guest favours, centerpieces, etc.
