Once your
invitations have been mailed you’ll have time to focus on other
wedding related plans. But as the Response Cards arrive you’ll want
to document replies to keep track of who has responded, what the
response was, meal options (if applicable), etc. A computerized
spreadsheet is a great tool for this task.
While most guests
will reply in a timely manner, there are always those that will need
a gentle reminder. Shortly after the requested response date has
passed the bride, the bride’s mother or a close friend should
contact those who haven’t responded to determine their intentions.
Knowing the
total number of guests to expect is essential when finalizing
quantities of food, number of chairs and tables, seating plans,
number of guest favours, centerpieces, etc.
